Hello friends. November 2008 is a tough time for most Americans. The economy is volatile and most small businesses are struggling or even closing their doors. Too many people, especially the employees of those small-businesses, are finding themselves out of work and unable to pay their own bills. Our country (financially speaking) is in trouble. This is why I feel so incredibly blessed.

A dear and respected friend of mine once said, “When the opportunity of a lifetime presents itself, you must act within the lifetime of that opportunity.” This opportunity presented itself last month when I was offered a position with 3001 Inc., a leading geospatial solutions provider. This offer was further enhanced by news that 3001 was being acquired by Northrop Grumman, one of the largest defense contractors in the world! I simply love the idea behind their tagline, “Defining the Future,” and am honored and proud to be a part of this company.

Many thanks to my former clients. You have all been friends to me. Thank you especially to Gainesville Regional Utilities (Steve, Jason, et al) and to Gainesville Public Works (nods to Andy and Sally). You have all made my adventure into entrepreneurship a wonderful and successful experience. You have also been so generous with your support over this move. I truly have accomplished my goal of wanting to be your ‘associate’.

From here? From here I am a fulltime employee, Defining the Future with some of the best minds in America. I am remaining in the GIS industry focused on Utilities so maybe our paths will cross again.

In the meantime, I will continue to dabble in website building [ArmorGraphics.org] and working on my 1971 Chevelle on the weekends. Drop me a line sometime.

Grace and Peace to you all,
